Luckily, you won't get oily maintaining your browser. In fact, you won't even have to get out of your chair. There are plenty of things basic users can do to ensure that their browsing experience is excellent. After ensuring that your browser is up to date, the biggest tool you have is mitigating what information is being stored in your browser. 

Chrome - Site Cookies

  1. In Chrome with a Droplet tab open (, select the Lock icon located left of the URL bar. 
  2. Select Cookies.
  3. Select Then select Remove
  4. Refresh your web page. (Mac shortcut CMD+R) (Windows shortcut CTL+R).
  5. You should be directed to the login page to authenticate.
If the issue is not resolved by clearing the site-specific cookies;
Proceed to clear your browser cookies, provided in the steps below.

Chrome - Browser Cookies

  1. In Chrome click on the three dot's on the upper right-hand side of the window to open the menu button More
  2. Scroll down to the option that says "More tools" and then select the sub-option "Clear browsing data,"
  3. At the top of the dialog select the option "All time" from the "Time range" dropdown.
  4. Ensure that the options for "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are selected.
  5. Click "Clear data."


  1.  At the top of the screen find "Firefox" in the menu bar and select the option "Preferences."
  2. Choose the panel on the left that says "Privacy and Security."
  3. Find the section labeled "Cookies and Site Data" and click on "Clear Data.
  4. Select both "Cookies and Site Data" and "Cached Web Content."
  5. Press the "Clear" button.


  1. In Edge, select the Menu using the three-dot icon on the upper right-hand side.
  2. Select "Settings," then "Privacy & services."
  3. Where it says "Clear browsing data" click on. "Choose what to clear."
  4. Select "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data."
  5. Press the "Clear" button.


  1. In the menu bar at the top of the screen click on "History."
  2. Choose the option for "Clear History."
  3. Use the "Clear" dropdown to select "all history" as the time frame to clear your history.
  4.  Click on the "Clear History" button at the bottom.
